How It Works
How It Feels
Under a traditional shelter, the air still feels warm and stuffy because the sun heats up the roof, causing it to radiate heat onto you.
Under a ThermoShade shelter, it feels noticeably cooler and more comfortable because the panel absorbs your body heat while also reflecting away sunlight.
ThermoShade panels are effective in hot, humid, and dry climates.
The Method
In the daytime, it cools.
It absorbs the body heat of those under the shade.
The ceiling temperature remains cool.
The heat is stored in a phase change material.
The insulated cooling panels also reflect and block heat from the sun.
At night, it recharges.
The recharger pumps the contained heat into the night air, re-solidifying the phase change material to prepare for the next day’s heat.

How It’s Made
The sky facing cool roof surface reflects sunlight and pumps away heat from the recharger.
The recharger only draws power when the Phase Change Material (PCM) must be cooled.
The PCM is a non-toxic substance that absorbs and stores heat as it melts. When the recharger releases the trapped heat, the PCM re-solidifies making it ready to absorb more heat. Think of an ice pack in a cooler that is set to maintain a specific temperature, and ThermoShade is able to solidify it in place, again and again.
The specialized insulation blocks convection from above, and only allows radiated body heat into the panel, ignoring ambient temperatures or humidity.
