The LA Resilient Rebuilding Cup

The Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) hosted the LA Resilient Rebuilding Cup, a competition aimed at accelerating innovations that help communities rebuild more sustainably and withstand climate-related risks like wildfires and extreme heat.

ThermoShade stood out by winning the Audience Favorite Award receiving $5,000 to support pilot deployments.

ThermoShade’s solution directly targets extreme heat and air quality challenges, offering a passive cooling technology that creates outdoor spaces that can feel significantly cooler without requiring electricity or water. Its modular panels can be integrated into structures like bus shelters, schools, and public spaces, making it especially relevant for urban environments and vulnerable populations increasingly exposed to rising temperatures.
